Оборот "to be going to do something"

Оборот to be going to do something передаёт намерение совершить действие, выраженное инфинитивом. На русский язык в этом случае to be going переводится собираться, намереваться.

Данный оборот употребляется:

1. для того, чтобы выразить намерение, планируемое действие в будущем:

What are going to do tonight? – I'm going to visit my parents. – Что ты собираешься (намереваешься, будешь) делать вечером? – Я собираюсь навестить родителей.

2. вместо настоящего продолженного в значении будущего времени:

I'm going to meet my friends tomorrow. (=I'm meeting...) – Я встречаюсь с друзьями завтра.

3. для того, чтобы описать будущие события, признаки которых есть в настоящем:

She's going to have a baby.– У неё будет ребёнок.

Look at the clouds! It's going to rain. – Посмотри на облака. Сейчас будет дождь.
